Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1
Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1

The Fatal Fury series was SNK's first ongoing fighting-game franchise, and many beloved SNK characters and locations made their first appearances in Fatal Fury. Now, gamers can see the series in its beginning stages with Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1 from SNK Playmore for the Sony PS2.

Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Vol. 1 includes four classic Fatal Fury games: Fatal Fury 1, Fatal Fury 2, Fatal Fury 3 and Fatal Fury Special. Fatal Fury 1 was the first fighting game to feature a two-plane system, allowing characters to dodge out of harm's way when confronted with a challenger's attacks.

Fatal Fury

Fighting is one of the oldest sports of all time, for warriors being the BEST is the ultimate goal... But being the best can be Fatal. Bogard dedicated his entire life to just that! He trained hard and perfected his martial arts ability. City after city, Bogard defeated the top fighters and earned the right to challenge the notorious Geese Howard.

The winner would be champion and would be crowned the "King of Fighters." Geese was overpowering and deadly. Bogard underestimated the vicious attacks of Geese. In the brutal battle, Geese kills the brave Bogard, without remorse... Bogard's sons, Andy and Terry, and his friend Joe Higashi were devastated. They swore a vengeance to their father's death.

Be Andy, Terry or Joe and journey from city to city to defeat their top fighters. You must help them in their quest for revenge!

Fatal Fury 2

The three lone wolves return to clash with new opponents in the "Sultan of Slugs" Battle Royale. After a year in training, forging bodies of steel, Andy, Joe, and Terry take on the world. Each player can choose the same character from the 8 heroes. Special attacks explode with more action. 3D battles bring you to the next stage in the fighting game evolution. Easy maneuverability and realistic choreography.

Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1

After Geese Howard's death in the original Fatal Fury, a mysterious nobleman becomes the sponsor of the new "King of Fighters" tournament. This time, the tournament is held worldwide with fighters around the globe competing.

As the single player mode progresses, the mysterious challenger begins defeating the participants from the previous Fatal Fury game, searching for the man responsible for defeating Geese!

Fatal Fury Special

The GRANDMOTHER of all battles! 15 of the FATAL FURY series' top stars gather in the match of the millenium! Use the resurrected Geese Howard and Wolfgang Krauser in a dazzling 3D arena!

All you have ever wanted in a fighting game is here in Fatal Fury Special!

Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory

The third numbered installment of the Fatal Fury series brings the fight back to South Town, replacing the original two-line system with a new swaying system while revamping the complete character roster.

Fatal Fury 3 retains the format and controls of the previous game in the series, Fatal Fury Special. However, the two-plane battle stages have been revamped into a three-plane format known as the Oversway System. The player fights primarily in the middle plane or the main plane, but can move or "oversway" into either of the sway lines at the background (LP+LK) or foreground (LK+HP).

When the player performs an attack in a sway plane (or an Oversway Attack), their character will return to the main plane. Likewise, the player can attack an opponent who is in a Sway Plane with an Anti-Oversway Attack. The player can also do a "Quick Sway" to avoid an attack, leaving the opponent vulnerable to a regular attack.

Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1

Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory is an adaptation of the Neo-Geo fighting game. 2-D scrolling one-on-one fighter with pseudo-3D aspects that allows for players to "escape" holds, throws, and other attacks!

Features:

  • Four complete Fatal Fury games.
  • Create your own player character with the Color Edit function.
  • The first series to incorporate two-plane fighting in a 2D system.
  • Switch the Soundtracks of all 4 titles between Original and Arranged compositions.
  • Multiple fighting modes: single player vs. the computer, 2-player head-to-head or 2-player co-op.
